How to provide the effectiveness of non pharmacological interventions?

Non pharmacological interventions, diet advice, dietary supplements, physical activity, body care, psychological intervention, therapeutic education have become necessary solutions to improve the life span and quality of life of people with chronic disease and those at risk.
Pilot studies state their benefits including economic and social status. These observations are not necessarily scientific proof. Justification needs to provide using specific methods, randomised control trials. But this methodology is subject for debate and this is the goal of the congress.

      

Organisation
The research unit Epsylon is dedicated to understand health behavioral change and provide evidence of effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of non pharmacological intervention. The unit gathers 170 persons, notably 44 researchers: medicine, philosophy, psychology, psychiatry, sociology and sport sciences. Epsylon operates several trial providing evidence of effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of non pharmacological intervention. The research unit creates with partners the Assessment centre of health prevention program (iCEPS).
 
Historical
The first edition, March 25, 2011, gathered 420 specialists of health prevention and rehabilitation. Several newspaper articles were devoted to him. Congress has exceeded expectations in terms of participants and showed its relevance. Participants came from three continents.
